UPDD by default is installed with 1920x1080 zoom resolution which indeed takes the whole screen.
In order to adjust the zoom resolution of UPDD you will need to:
1. Open UPDD Commander
*Windows, UPDD Commander is located on the taskbar as a Tray icon
*MacOS, UPDD Commander is located on the menu bar(Top right of the screen)
2. Go to Settings Tab
3. Navigate to Smart Magnifier and under the Shape & Size adjust your preferred values
